Well I hate to break it to you ladies, there is no FASHION in bridal. ! Why no fashion in bridal you say.... We learned from our mistakes, all you have to do is look at the disastrous 80's and that's your answer right there. We have learned that fashion doesn't belong in bridal as these are pictures that are usually displayed on family Walls forever, and no one what to see that horrible puffy sleeve that made us look like creme puffs!
So whats new? Well here is a run down of the looks I saw at Spring 2013 bridal market in NY.
The ever whimsical and romantic Alvina Valenta has not let us done. She continues to design for that young bride with all her hopes and dreams of that perfect wedding. If I would to say I see a trend her the designs would be that she incorporated sleeves in a lot of her gown. The sleeves are done in a very lite and airy kind of way.
A second trend I saw was the return of the peplum. This looks beautiful on 6 foot tall size 2 models, but on the average women not so much.
Tulle continues to hit the runway full force. Its light and nothing says bride like tulle.

We can always count on Ines Di Santo to give us her very best. Her ballgown are perfect for that bride looking to host a 300 + wedding. She did incorporate in her designs the lighter and softer fabrics, but she continues to give us her sexy Latin flare!
We come to Jenny Packham, her old Hollywood glamour is always present in her designs, but this time she used much more lace in her designs and less of the heavy beading.
This is a version of her soft ruffles, and even thou its stunning, the average women could not wear it.
This high neck halter I have not seem in a long time. Its beautiful and I hope will do well. Jenny Packham is not for everyone and this is a gown I will bring into my shop and wait for that perfect tall bride to wear it.
Ulla Maija stayed strong and stood her ground. She continued to use the heavy silk satin with her every identifiable drapes.
Romona Keveza is beautiful and ethereal. Soft tulles and organza was a common trend in her designs. Rhinestone Belts were seen often with her gowns this season. Telling me we will continue with the belt trend.
Romona's peplum
Trumpet cut
To sum it up, this spring 2013 we will see tulle, organza, lace, sleeves, and trumpet cuts with a beaded belt here and there. All of which we have seen here and there over the years. Which brings me back to my point ladies, "there is no fashion in bridal" !
